miv72 [106K]

1) Gunpowder

The Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal empires rose as great powers and expanded largely during the 16th century due to a great extent to the use of gunpowder weapons. Armies from the three empires acquired this new military technology which resulted very useful for their campaigns and for keeping the power.

2) Strong political leadership

The three empires experienced an era of expansion under the rule of strong emperors: Suleiman the Magnificent in the Ottoman Empire, Shah Abbas I in the Safavid Empire, and Akbar in the Mughal Empire. The three of them carried out political, legal, economic, and military reforms and led their empires during a time of cultural bloom and economic growth.

Alinara [238K]

Answer:

In 1866, the results of Gregor Mendel's studies in heredity were published in Austria. His work on the inheritance of genetics paved the way for improving crops.

Explanation:

Gregor Johann Mendel was an Austrian biologist and botanist, Augustinian monk, and abbot. He is widely known as the founder of the doctrine of heredity. His discovery of the laws of inheritance of monogenic traits (these laws are now known as the Mendel Laws) was the first step towards modern genetics.

He published his findings in 1865, but his ideas were not noticed until after his death, in the early 1900s, when other researchers made the same discovery. Mendel is now recognized as the father of genetics.
