It's simple, first, we use add the same number to the two members
(y - 19) + 19 = (42) + 19
2: we solve the parenthesis
( + 19 -19 = 0)
and
(42  + 19 = 61)
3: we solve the equation
y = 61

Kevin ran 7 miles more than Steve ran. The sum of their distance is 33 miles. How far did Steve run? How far did Kevin run? What
Diano4ka-milaya [45]
First set it up in an equation equal to 33

33= 7 + x + x
33 = 7 = 2x
26 = 2x
13 = x

plug x value back into equation

kevin runs 20 miles and steve ran 13

Answer:

Volume=207.24 mm^{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

From the given figure.

Cone height = 7 mm

Cylinder height = 5 mm

Base radius of the cylinder = base radius of the cone = 3 mm

The volume of the given figure is

Volume = volume of cylinder + volume of cone-----------(1)

The volume cylinder is.

V = \pi r^{2} h ----------(2)

Where: r = radius of the cylinder, h = height of the cylinder.

Put the value of height and radius of the cylinder in equation 2.

V = 3.14\times 3^{2}\times 5

V = 3.14\times 9\times 5

V = 141.0\ mm^{3}

The volume of the cylnder is 141.3 mm^{3}

The volume cone is.

V = \pi r^{2} \frac{h}{3} --------------(3)

Where: r = base radius of the cone, h = height of the cone.

Put the value of height and base radius of the cone in equation 3.

V = 3.14\times 3^{2}\times \frac{7}{3}

V = 3.14\times 9\times \frac{7}{3}

V = 3.14\times 3\times 7

V = 65.94\ mm^{3}

The volume of the cone is 65.94 mm^{3} .

Put the value of the volume of cone and cylinder in equation 1.

Volume=141.3+65.94

Volume=207.24 mm^{3}

Therefore, the volume of the given figure is 207.24 mm^{3}
