What rhetorical effect does the personification of the word Prudence have in the following excerpt from the Declaration of Indep

endence?
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

It ironically appeals to the religious sentiments of the audience.
It sarcastically criticizes the colonists’ desire to form a new government.
It directly emphasizes an appeal to the reader’s emotions.
It effectively enhances the logos and ethos of the argument.

What is figurative language? (A)language meant to appeal to the senses. (B)a ballad printed on one side of a large sheet of pape
9966 [12]
FIgurative language is a writing that's not meant to be taken literally, but rather to put things into perspective.
For example, if you drop coffee on yourself, and you say that the coffee is as hot as the sun, you're using a simile, an example of figurative language, and that's not meant to be taken literally- it's an exaggeration.
Hope this helps!
