Dependent variable: Hot chocolate sales

Independent variable: Outside temperatures

If it is 75°F I don't think people will be buying hot chocolate

But if it's 35°F more people will be buying hot chocolate. The sales of the hot chocolate <u>depends</u> on what the outside temperature is. While the temperature depends on nothing
