It narrates the story of how a mysterious Green Knight came to the court of King Arthur and posed a challenge to the men. He challenged Sir Gawain to a bet where he be hit with three strokes of the sword and if he doesn't die, he will also return the 'favor'. After Sir Gawain took his chance but didn't seem to hurt him even a bit, the Green Knight said he will be taking his offer after a year and a day, and asked him to come to a green chapel somewhere not around King Arthur's land. The Green Chapel that he mentioned in his game will be mysterious just as he himself was.
