A volcano is tall, cone-shaped, and made up of alternating layers of lava and ash. A wide, gently sloping mountain formed by thin layers of lava that pour out of a vent and harden on top of previous layers is known as a volcano. Ash, cinders, and bombs build up in a steep pile to form  volcanoes.

I thought it was ash cinder and magma...then the layer under that is bedrock as its formed under the ocean where constant volcanic heat forms the rock...plus a bomb explodes when its atoms get accelerated and when gunpowder gets how you gonna have bombs in lava

What is present on all skin surfaces except on the palms, soles, lips, and parts of the external genitalia
KIM [24]

Sebaceous glands are present on all skin surfaces except on the palms, soles, lips, and parts of the external genitalia.

Sebaceous glands are part of the pilosebaceous unit. There are generally numerous sebaceous glands per each hair follicle. Sebaceous glands are true exocrine glands made up of lobules and ducts.

The lobules are made up of sebaceous cells which produce sebum, a fatty substance that lubricates hair and has bactericidal and fungicidal properties.

These sebaceous or oil glands are also classified as holocrine exocrine glands. It means that the entire sebaceous cell loses its cytoplasm and dies in the process of discharging its contents during the excretory process toward the middle of the gland into its lumen.

A group conducted a survey of two different plots on campus. Both plots had 100 trees in them. Plot 1 had 85 maples, 5 birch, 5
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

d. The species diversity of plot 2 is greater than that of plot 1.

Explanation:

Species diversity of an area depends on its species richness and species evenness. Species richness is the number of species present in that area. Species evenness measures how evenly these species are distributed.

Here, both plot 1 and plot 2 have same number of species. They both have four species of trees ( maple, birch, oak and pine) hence their species richness is same. However plot 1 has 85% maple trees and the rest three species make the remaining 15%. Plot 2 has more even distribution as 35% of trees are maple trees and birch and oak also have similar frequency with 25% and 35% respectively. Hence, plot 2 has more evenness.

Species diversity depends on both richness and evenness. Since plot 1 and 2 have same richness but plot 2 has more evenness, plot 2 has more species diversity than plot 1.
