Wealthy residents bought works of art, which supported artists.

The artists were the main point of the Italian Renaissance and a lot of them did do works for the church. Other than the church, wealthy residents were they only ones who could afford the artists. They supported and became patrons of artists as a way to show off their wealth and status.

The correct answer is "Wealthy residents bought works of art, which supported artists". Renaissance was pivotal era for art in Italy, as very talented artists flourished in this era, artists that included Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Sandro Botticelli, Raphael, among others. Wealthy residents contributed to art by buying the works of relevant artists, which was a motivation for artists to keep performing their work.

What was promised when the war was over?
Lera25 [3.4K]

The Civil War was not entirely caused by Lincoln's election, but the election was one of the primary reasons the war broke out the following year. Lincoln's decision to fight rather than to let the Southern states secede was not based on his feelings towards slavery.
