Which bone would likely take the longest to heal? Select one: a. finger bone of an elderly individual b. thigh bone of an elderl
anastassius [24]
The finger bone of an elderly individual is going to take the longest to heal because the healing of a bone is dependent on the blood flow to that area. The elderly already have a weaker blood flow than healthy, young people, so the healing of their bones takes longer. On top of that, the finger gets less blood supply than the thigh bone, so it will take longer to heal than the thigh.

How do a muscle's origin and insertion differ?
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

The muscle's origin is proximal and the muscle insertion is distal.

Explanation:

The muscle is attached to bone by the tendons. The muscle contraction helps in the movement of the body.

The muscle origin site does not move during contraction whereas the insertion site moves when muscle contracts. The origin point of the muscle is proximal. The insertion site of the muscle is distal.

Your ride to find an unresponsive 48 year old patient do you have determined that the patient is unconscious, apneic, has a weak
Shkiper50 [21]

The finding that is a contradiction to the application of AED is because the patient is apneic, has a weak pulse and observes cyanosis.

When can you not use the AED?

In cases of cardiac arrest other than due to Ventricular Fibrillation or Pulseless Ventricular Tachycardia, AED will not be helpful and CPR must be continued. In addition, after recovery from these situations, the rescuer must open the airway and maintain ventilation and circulation with chest compressions until advanced emergency support arrives.

With this information, we can conclude that the AED can be used even in children, from one year of age. Defibrillation is indicated in cases of cardiac arrest, with risk of death, but also in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant arrhythmias, atrial or ventricular fibrillation and tachycardia.
