the inverse of a two-by-two matrix

A=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}a&b\\c&d\end{array}\right]

whose inverse is

A^{-1}=\frac{\left[\begin{array}{ccc}d&-b\\-c&a\end{array}\right]}{ad-bc}

Substituting values, we get

A^{-1}=\frac{\left[\begin{array}{ccc}7&9\\-8&-5\end{array}\right]}{37}

which is not the same as matrix B. Therefore B is not the inverse of A.

We can prove similarly that A is not the inverse of B.

Which expression is equivalent to 5 (w 4) when w = 9? 5 (9) 9 (5) 5 (9) 4 5 (9) 20.
pogonyaev

Expression consists of numbers, variables, and mathematical operations. The expression f(w)=5(w+4) is equal to f(9)=5(9)+20.

<h3>What is an Expression?</h3>

In mathematics, an expression is defined as a set of numbers, variables, and mathematical operations formed according to rules dependent on the context.

The expression is given to you is,

f(w)= 5(w+4)

Now, if we solve the expression it can be written as,

f(w)=5w+20

substituting the value of w, we will get,

f(9)=5(9)+20

Hence, the expression f(w)=5(w+4) is equal to f(9)=5(9)+20.
