3/4 multiplied by 10/1
you multiply the numerators times the numerators first.
3 multiplied by 10=30. 30 is our numerator
MOVING ON TO DENOMINATOR
the denominator times denominator would be 4.
30/4 can be made into a mixed number.
4 goes into 30 7 times. 7 multiplied by 4 is 28. but you still have 2 left over till 30.
So, you put 7 1/2.
Because there are 2 pieces left over, and out denominator is 4.
BUT! you have to simplify 7 2/4.
so, your final answer is 7 1/2

Equation: \frac{3}{4} *  \frac{10}{1}

For multiplying fractions, its just multiplying across

3*10=30

4*1=4

\frac{3}{4} * \frac{10}{1} = \frac{30}{4}

Now to reduce to lowest terms, you must find a common factor

2 goes into 30 fifteen times and 2 goes into 4 two times

\frac{30}{4} ⇒\frac{15}{2}

If you want to turn it into a mix fraction, divide 15 (numerator/top number) by 2 (denominator/lower number)

15 ÷ 2=7.5 or 7 \frac{1}{2}

Answer:

Mixed fraction:
7.5 which is 7 \frac{1}{2}

Improper fraction: \frac{15}{2}

The National Cancer Institute estimates that 3.65% of women in their 60s get breast cancer. A mammogram can typically identify c
masha68 [24]

Answer:

39.17% probability that a woman in her 60s who has a positive test actually has breast cancer

Step-by-step explanation:

Bayes Theorem:

Two events, A and B.

P(B|A) = \frac{P(B)*P(A|B)}{P(A)}

In which P(B|A) is the probability of B happening when A has happened and P(A|B) is the probability of A happening when B has happened.

In this question:

Event A: Positive test.

Event B: Having breast cancer.

3.65% of women in their 60s get breast cancer

This means that P(B) = 0.0365

A mammogram can typically identify correctly 85% of cancer cases

This means that P(A|B) = 0.85

Probability of a positive test.

85% of 3.65% and 100-95 = 5% of 100-3.65 = 96.35%. So

P(A) = 0.85*0.0365 + 0.05*0.9635 = 0.0792

What is the probability that a woman in her 60s who has a positive test actually has breast cancer?

P(B|A) = \frac{0.0365*0.85}{0.0792} = 0.3917

39.17% probability that a woman in her 60s who has a positive test actually has breast cancer

After a snowstorm in the town of Golden Glen, the morning temperature was – 10°F. But by the afternoon, the temperature had rise
spayn [35]

Answer:

7°F

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following information from the question;

Morning temperature = -10°F

Increase in temperate = 17°F

Afternoon temperature = the unknown

Since;

Increase in temperature = Afternoon temperature - morning temperature

Then;

Afternoon temperature = increase in temperature + morning temperature

Afternoon temperature = 17°F + (-10°F)

Afternoon temperature= 7°F
