Answer:

Like Sancho, Cugoano is speaking out against the  horrible practice of slavery.

Explanation:

The excerpts for both literary pieces are-

<em>It is therefore manifest, that something else ought yet to be done; and what is required, is evidently the incumbent duty of all men of enlightened understanding, and of every man that has any claim or affinity to the name of Christian, that the base treatment which the African Slaves undergo, ought to be abolished; and it is moreover evident, that the whole, or any part of that iniquitous traffic of slavery, can no where, or in any degree, be admitted, but among those who must eventually resign their own claim to any degree of sensibility and humanity, for that of barbarians. </em><em> </em>

( From Thoughts and Sentiments on the Evil of Slavery by Ottobah Cugoano)

<em>I am sure you will applaud me for beseeching you to give one half hour's attention to slavery, as it is at this day practiced in our West Indies.—That subject, handled in your striking manner, would ease the yoke (perhaps) of many—but if only of one—Gracious God!—what a feast to a benevolent heart!—and, sure I am, you are an epicurean in acts of charity.—You, who are universally read, and as universally admired—you could not fail. </em>

(From Letters of the Late Ignatius Sancho, An African. )

Both excerpts of the passages show that the authors of both hold the same view on the evil of slavery. Cugaono states that "<em>the base treatment which the African Slaves undergo, ought to be abolished;" </em>while Sancho also holds the same view "<em>ease the yoke (perhaps) of many". </em>Both individuals raise the issue of slavery and the need to break free of such practice, and bring about the freedom and liberty of the slaves and their future generations.

Write a body paragraph for why police should wear body cameras and a reason to support your opinion.
leonid [27]

Answer:

Police officers should wear body cameras to protect not just themselves but also civilians. If police officers regularly wore cameras the state would be able to look the at the footage if something questionable ever happened. The state would be able to see if the officer was abusing his/her powers or if they were just acting in self-defense. Then, in most cases, the person at blame would be clear. Then, civilians could get justice for the family or if the officer was just acting in self-defense they would not be punished. In conclusion, police officers should wear body cameras for everyone's safety.

When Gulliver is repulsed by Pedro de Mendez and Gulliver's own family, what does his repulsion show about his character?
Aloiza [94]

It shows an evolution which will alienate him from society for the rest of his life. Indeed, Gulliver has found a race of talking horses that have the perfect society with no crime or vices or any form of corruption. These race of Houyhnhnms is the master of the island and rules over savage, dirty and grotesque humanoid creatures which are called the Yahoos. After spending sometime in the island, Gulliver feels more Houyhnhnm than human and considers humans a backward species. It is to be noted nonetheless, that Gulliver is rescued by a Portuguese captain that is very generous and sensitive and his refusal and disgust to acknowledge this implies that he still has the vice of pride very much ingrained in his nature.
