The answer is no!

Mutually Exclusive means both events (being female and preferring chocolate) cannot occur at the same time!

We know this is false because on the graph it proves that some females like chocolate!

An example of a Mutually Exclusive event is ( being male and female )

this can't occur!

Let's add the total amount of people who like chocolate and who are female...

33 + 22 = 55

but we must subtract 15 so we won't double count the girls who like chocolate!

40 / (total people)

40 / 50 = 0.80

The probabilty that some is female OR likes chocolate is 80%
