The answer is :

Smoking can cause about 87% of all cases of lung cancer.

Further explanation

As many as 80-90 percent of lung cancer cases are caused by smoking, but that does not mean people who do not smoke will be far from the disease, instead, several other factors cause lung cancer.

The United States Prevention Unit issued a list of people at high risk of lung cancer that has a history of 30 years of smoking, aged 55 to 80 years, and smoked in the last 15 years. Nevertheless, lung cancer can affect anyone.

Cigarette smoke is responsible for approximately 7,300 lung cancer deaths each year in the United States. Tobacco products contain more than 7,000 chemicals, and at least 70 of them are known to contain cancer-causing substances.

The signs and symptoms that indicate lung cancer are:

- Symptoms of the airways: coughing, coughing up blood, wheezing or shortness of breath

- Systemic symptoms: weight loss, fever, clubbing on fingernails, or fatigue

- Symptoms due to pressure in the local area: chest pain, bone pain, superior vena cava obstruction, difficulty swallowing

The causes of lung cancer are:

- Smoking (increases risk by 20-30% of lung cancer)

- Radeon gas (increases risk by 8-16% lung cancer)

- Asbestos

- Air pollution (responsible for 1-2% of lung cancer)

- Genetics (estimated 8-14% due to heredity)

- Other causes.

Compare the functions of the circulatory, respiratory, and nervous system in gas exchange
kow [346]

Answer:

Functions of the circulatory, respiratory, and nervous system in gas exchange are interconnected with each other in the following manner:

The circulatory system is responsible to pumps blood around the body. The circulation system allows the absorption of oxygen and releases carbon dioxide in the lungs and the Respiratory system also take oxygen in and releases carbon dioxide. The circulatory system and respiratory system work hand in hand. The brain or nervous system monitors gas or oxygen level in blood and regulates respiratory rate.

Which chemical buffer system resists ph changes in the extracellular fluid (ecf)?
Ann [662]

The answer is carbonic acid-bicarbonate buffer. This buffer system is regulated by the lungs and kidneys due to the regulation of CO2 and bicarbonate ions respectively. It is formed by the dissolving of carbon dioxide from the tissue into the blood plasma. A weak acid-base conjugate is a good buffer due to its partial dissociation in water.

An atom that has an outer shell that is NOT full is (more likely OR less likely) to be reactive than an atom that has a full out
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

A half filled orbital is LESS LIKELY to be reactive than a fully filled orbital

Explanation: A fully filled orbital has the electronic configuration of a noble gas. That is, unreactive.

The quantum states of these orbitals(fully filled) are stable because the electrons in the sub shell are fully filled which makes it difficult for it to loose and gain electron unlike a half filled which is much more easier. It will take more energy for ionization to take place making it(fully filled) more stable.
