Explanation:

Synthesis phase or S phase is an important phase occuring in the Interphase of the cell cycle.

          S phase deals with replication of DNA resulting in the formation of two daughter DNA molecules from a single DNA molecule.As a result the amount genetic material or DNA is being doubled in the synthesis  phase or S phase.

          From that point of view it can be stated that the nucleus will contain 8 picograms of DNA in the S phase or Synthesis phase.
