Victor read 9 pages of a book last night. While riding the bus to school this morning, he reads an additional 2 pages each minut

Equation- p= 9+2m

Where p= no of pages read by victor

            m=total time in minutes

Minutes(m) Pages Read(p)

       0 9

       1 11

       2 13

       3 15

      4 17

      m 9+2m

Step-by-step explanation:

As provided in the question Victor has already read 9 books. After that, he begins his bus journey where-in he reads at the rate of 2 words per minute.

Hence after “m” minutes, he would have read “2m” pages

So, total pages read by Victor(p) = 2m+9

Drawing of coordinates-

Since at m=0 minutes, he has already read 9 pages (previous nights), thus coordinates would be (0,9)

Similarly, next coordinates would be (1,11) at m=1 minute where-in he would have read 9+2(11) pages and so on-

Coordinates-

(0.9) (1,11) (2,13) (3,15) (4,17) (m,9+2m) after “m” minutes of travel

I need help with problem 6) A. Please help.
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

  • 60
  • 18

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratios are all 3 father steps to 5 son steps. Then ...

  son-steps = 5/3·father steps

  son-steps = 5/3·36 = 60

and

  father-steps = 3/5·son-steps

  father-steps = 3/5·30 = 18

___

As a check, you can realize that the numbers in the first blank, 36:60, are double those in the second blank, 18:30. The first of these, 36:60, is 3 times the row underneath it, 12:20.
