At every point of Swift proposal the reader from today gets the idea he is being ironic.This way he is critisizing the attitudes an ideas of the time.In order to improve a financial situation people would sell their souls.Contemporaries could not understand and tought of it as a sacrifice, today it is something different, the idea is satirizised
