Starting from rest, a runner reaches a speed of 2.8 m/s in 2.1 s. In the same time 2.1 s time, a motorcycles increases speed fro
maw [93]

Answer:

a) Acceleration of runner is 1.33 m/s²

b)  Acceleration of motorcycle is 2.85 m/s²

c) The motorcycle moves 84.21-2.94 = 81.06 m farther than the runner.

Explanation:

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity = 0

v = Final velocity

s = Displacement

a = Acceleration

Equation of motion

v=u+at\\\Rightarrow a=\frac{v-u}{t}\\\Rightarrow a=\frac{2.8-0}{2.1}\\\Rightarrow a=1.33\ m/s^2

Acceleration of runner is 1.33 m/s²

v=u+at\\\Rightarrow a=\frac{v-u}{t}\\\Rightarrow a=\frac{43-37}{2.1}\\\Rightarrow a=2.85\ m/s^2

Acceleration of motorcycle is 2.85 m/s²

v^2-u^2=2as\\\Rightarrow s=\frac{v^2-u^2}{2a}\\\Rightarrow s=\frac{2.8^2-0^2}{2\times 1.33}\\\Rightarrow s=2.94\ m

The runner moves 2.94 m

v^2-u^2=2as\\\Rightarrow s=\frac{v^2-u^2}{2a}\\\Rightarrow s=\frac{43^2-37^2}{2\times 2.85}\\\Rightarrow s=84.21\ m

The motorcycle moves 84.21 m

The motorcycle moves 84.21-2.94 = 81.06 m farther than the runner.

What happens whenever energy is transformed from one form to another?
andriy [413]

Answer:

Energy transformation is when energy changes from one form to another – like in a hydroelectric dam that transforms the kinetic energy of water into electrical energy. While energy can be transferred or transformed, the total amount of energy does not change – this is called energy conservation.

Explanation:

An automobile having a mass of 1,000 kg is driven into a brick wall in a safety test. The bumper behaves like a spring with cons
Nady [450]

To solve this problem it is necessary to apply the concepts related to the conservation of energy, specifically the potential elastic energy against the kinetic energy of the body.

By definition this could be described as

PE = KE

\frac{1}{2}kx^2 = \frac{1}{2}mv^2

Where

k = Spring constant

x = Displacement

m = mass

v = Velocity

This point is basically telling us that all the energy in charge of compressing the spring is transformed into the energy that allows the 'impulse' seen in terms of body speed.

If we rearrange the equation to find v we have

v = \sqrt{\frac{kx^2}{m}}

Our values are given as

m = 1000kg

k = 5.75*10^6N/m

x = 3.12*10^{-2}m

Replacing at our equation we have then,

v = \sqrt{\frac{kx^2}{m}}

v = \sqrt{\frac{(5.75*10^6)(3.12*10^{-2})^2}{1000}}

v = 2.3658m/s

Therefore he speed of the car before impact, assuming no energy is lost in the collision with the wall is 2.37m/s

Which object had more potential energy when it was lifted to a distance of 10 meters? Show your
vitfil [10]
When all of the objects are lifted to the same height, the object
that has the most mass also has the most potential energy.

If we knew anything about the masses of the objects in this question,
then we could be more specific.

Calculation:

    <em>Potential energy = (mass) x (gravity) x (height above the reference level)</em>.

Solnce55 [7]

Our modern version which is a heliocentric model of the universe also supported by other scientists like Nicholas Copernicus and Johannes  Kepler developed theories that conflicted with the Ptolemaic model of the universe developed by Ptolemy in ancient times which assume that the earth is the center of the solar system and all the stars and planets are revolving around it.

<h3>What is a solar system?</h3>

It is a system that collection of all the planets and spatial bodies revolving around the sun because of the gravitational pull of the sun.

Our Solar System is based on a heliocentric model in which the Sun is assumed to reside at the central point of the planetary system.

In other words, the Sun is at the center while the Earth and other planetary bodies revolve around it.

The geocentric model of the universe developed by Ptolemy in ancient times, which holds that the earth is the center of the solar system and that all the stars and planets revolve around it, was in conflict with our modern version, which is a heliocentric model of the universe and also supported by Nicholas Copernicus and Johannes Kepler.
