the denominator is the number you are dividing with
EX- 2 divided by 3 as a fraction is
2/3
X-intercepts are points where the graph intersects the x-axis, i.e. when y=0.
Substitute y=0 and solve for x:
y=x^2-3x+2
0=x^2-3x+2
0=(x-2)(x-1)
By the zero product property, we deduce x-2=0 or x-1=0, i.e. x=1 or x=2.
