Answer: When sarcomeres shorten, the muscle fiber SHORTENS.

Explanation:

A muscle fiber is made up of many myofibrils that are attached at either end, which are composed of repeating subunits called sarcomeres that are responsible for muscle contraction. There are two types of filaments that makes up myofibrils they include;

- thick filaments and

- thin filaments

These filaments form the overlapping layers of sarcomeres. The contraction of muscle occurs through sliding- filaments model in the sarcomeres. The sarcomere and the muscle fibre shortens in length during muscle contraction ,due to the thick and thin filaments sliding over each other. I hope this helps, thanks.

Answer:

B. Shortens

Explanation:

Myofibrils are components of the animal skeletal muscles that are made up of sacromeres. They perform the muscular contraction and relaxation via the sliding filament model.

To produce motion, A cross-bridge forms between actin and the myosin heads triggering shortening of the sacromere. This shortening of the sacromere results in the contraction of the muscle fibers, which the net effect can be seen to be a shortening of the fibers

Based on their names, a biceps muscle has heads/proximal tendons and a triceps muscle has heads/proximal tendons.
Pani-rosa [81]

A muscle on the front of the upper arm is called the biceps. The "short head" and "long head" of the biceps function as a single muscle. The triceps, also known as triceps brachii, is a large muscle on the back of many vertebrates' upper limbs that is known as the "three-headed muscle of the arm" in Latin. The long head, lateral end, and medial end makeup its three components.

Tendons, which are strong connective structures, hold the biceps to the arm bones. The proximal biceps tendons are the tendons that attach the biceps muscle to the shoulder joint twice. The distal biceps tendon is the tendon that connects the biceps muscle to the forearm bones (radius and ulna). When the biceps muscles contract, the forearm is pulled up and rotated outward.

nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

If he inherited a mutation which made him more susceptible to lung cancer, it may have been present in some of the gametes he produced and passed to his children

Explanation:

Even tho the cause of lung cancer is not very clear, a genetic predisposition is of a great influence, his smoking and therefore causing a lung cancer is not appliable to his children because of no connection, but in the sense of having a mutation which makes you predisposable to the cancer with or without the smoking, can lead to a high risk of gene inheritance and therefore inheriting the mutation with a high risk of getting lung cancer excluding the smoking.
