Why is a sidereal day shorter than a solar day on earth?

Biology

The Sidereal Day is 4 minutes shorter than the Mean Solar Day, because the rotation of the Earth on its axis, and the orbiting of the Earth around the Sun, are both counterclockwise, as viewed from above (or north of) the Ecliptic Plane. See planetary retrograde motion for an example of the opposite situation.

The reason that the Solar Day varies around the Mean Solar Day is that the Earth moves at different speeds through its orbit around the Sun. This is in keeping with Kepler's Second Law of Planetary Motion.

Please note that the Mean Solar Day changes over a long period of time, due to the slowing of the rotation of the Earth due to tidal forces exerted on the Earth primarily by the Moon. For example, the Mean Solar Day was about 23 hours about 250 million years ago.

You get home from school and grab a bag of potato chips before settling onto the couch to binge watch your newest Netflix series
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

Osmosis is the process in which the molecules of a solvent move from a region of low concentration to a region of higher concentration through a semi-permeable barrier.

While eating the chips, the salt content from the chips makes the surrounding solution of the cells to have an increase in salt concentration causing an hypertonic solution. An hypertonic solution is a solution that has more solute (salt) than the (solute in a) cell. This increase in salt concentration around the cells causes the cells to release water to neutralize the high salt concentration in the solution around the cell (in order to maintain homeostasis) which causes dehydration in the individual and hence making the individual to be thirsty. The body attempts to maintain balance by passing this excess salt out of the body in the form of urine hence the reason for the dark colour in the urine (because if the body doesn't rid itself of the high salt concentration, the cells could shrink and die as a result).

How does pH affect cells and cellular processes
wel
The slightest change in pH can destroy the substance or organism. The pH of a cell's interior helps regulate the cell's chemical reactions. For example, the pH of blood is 7.4, if blood falls to 6.8 or lower or 8.2 or higher, it results in death.

To view space and the foreign objects scientist may find. Also for learning purposes because it financially cost a lot to send scientists to space for research. So for research purposes.

are chromosome pairs, one from each parent, that are similar in length, gene position and centromere location
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

This definition suits that of "HOMOLOGOUS CHROMOSOMES"

Explanation:

Homologous chromosomes are similar pairs of chromosomes i.e. in length, gene positioning and centromere location (one from each parent) but not identical. Homologous chromosomes are not identical in the sense that, alleles on each pair may be different, resulting in genetic variation of the offspring.

Using humans as a case study, a karyotype (pictorial display of chromosomal arrangement) shows the complete set of chromosomes, which has two complete set (diploid). Each human cell contain 23 pairs of chromosomes, with each pair contributed by each parent i.e. 46 chromosomes in total. Every chromosome pair represents a set of homologous chromosome.
