2. What might be a problem with a truck having to park 25 feet away from the base of the building?
a. It will take a little bit of walking to get to the building but unless it is a firetruck or an ambulance needed to be that close to a builing, I dont think there is an issue. If there is a firetruck with a ladder and it is 25ft away from the base of the building it will be REALLY difficult to get to the building from the ladder.
3. Imagine the fire department had to evacuate the 25th floor of an office building. For firefighters to safely reach people at this height how long would the ladder have to be and how much would it weigh? Based on this, do you think Pierce should manufacture this apparatus? Explain.
a. Sorry my guy, I don’t know this at all. The ladder would have to be longer than the 25th floor, that is for sure, I just don’t know how much longer.
4. If Pierce wanted to manufacture this ladder, what might they do to make it feasible to put on a truck?
a. Well they would make it so that it can fold up to the length of where-ever the ladder is held on the fire truck. Like they would any other firetruck ladder.

advantages:
•you can get to lower places.
•probably more stable
very shallow disadvantages
•can’t get to high places
•might have to crawl on top of the ladder (I mean if it is mostly horizontal then yea)

•gravity is prone to pull you down.

a. I don’t know what to think about. Why are these questions so vague? Maybe the ladder needs to be super sturdy but that is a given when you are saving lives.

Pros: in theory this works because the firefighters would be able to reach high up places, like apartment building windows
Cons: The issue in the London case had nothing to do with windows and everything to do the walls and the people not knowing what to do so it isnt this answer.

Pros: The walls aren’t flammable
Cons: I am not sure honestly

Pros: people would know what to do in the London case scenario

Stairs, escalators, elevators, ramps, slides, maybe even a trampoline...
If ladders are difficult to use for high floors another very common options are stairs. you see them pretty much everywhere. Escalators and elevators are also used, elevators more often that escalators.
