Explain the good luck that Odysseus has. How does he take advantage of the good luck? What does this reveal about him?

Odysseus had luck because he was favored by the god Athena which can be an advantage because he was helped throughout his voyage and at the end of the story Athena helps him become into and old man so he would not be attacked by the man that resided in his home who wanted the hand of his wife to gain the throne.
