What's the main function of the Krebs cycle
kati45 [8]
The main function of the Krebs cycle is to generate energy for the cell. The Krebs cycle is also known as the citric acid cycle and is part of cellular respiration. Cellular respiration is a series of chemical reactions that cells use to break up sugars into a form that the cell can use. Cell respiration requires oxygen to take place. Cellular respiration consists of four stages:1. the breaking down of glucose into molecules (glycolysis)2. the link reaction - this process forms a link between glycolysis and the Krebbs reaction3. "ricin inhibits the functioning of ribosomes. What part of protein synthesis would be affected by ricin? What effect would this
kondor19780726 [428]

Ricin comes under the category of functionally related toxins, in a combination known as RIPs (ribosome inactivating proteins). This disables ribosomes and stops the process of protein synthesis.

They directly associate with and inactivate the ribosomes or modify the factors taking part in the process of translation, generally the elongation step. These proteins bring about depurination of adenine at position 4324 in the 28 S rRNA.

This further inhibits the generation of a critical-stem-loop configuration to which the elongation factor is considered to combine at the time of the translocation step of translation. The ultimate outcome of this activity is the complete inhibition of cellular translation.

What type of electromagnetic wave is used in security pens?
kondaur [170]

The answer is; UV (ultraviolet)

The security pens use UV light to illuminate some marking on an object, such as a watermark, to identify its authenticity or owner. The markings are usually invisible to the naked eye under visible light. The marks are only visible when illuminated with UV light. This is because the marking is made of a fluorescent material that absorbs light of a  shorter wavelength (this case UV) and emits a longer wavelength (this case visible light).
