In English, there is what is called subject - verb agreement which helps in ensuring that, there is valid relationship and agreement in numbers between the subject and the verb used in the sentence.
<em>Singular subject goes with singular verbs and plural subject goes with plural verb. There are about 12 rules in the subject-verb agreement.</em>
