Answer: to describe how the enslaved were treated as animals.

Explanation:

Obviously, sheep are animals. The reasoning behind this answer, however, is not so shallow. From this passage, I do not see that Douglas’s own experience is included or that the number of his grandmother’s children is emphasized. This passage is rather short, however, so these details may be discussed elsewhere.

The slaves were first equated to sheep. Sheep are often considered unintelligent. They are herded and forced to change fields by a Shepard. They are a type of livestock and may be sold at auction. The slaves were similarly treated as having low intelligence and no valid emotions, forced where their masters willed. They are treated as livestock to be bought, sold, or slaughtered. Thus, this places emphasis on their treatment as animals and the ignorance of their humanity.

Button button How do Norma’s personal desires affect the outcome of the story?
Softa [21]

Answer:

Norma's personal desires resulted to her pushing the button, which unknowingly, led to her husband's death.

Explanation:

"Button, Button" is a shorty story written by Richard Matheson. It focuses on the story of a couple, Norma and Arthur, who were having financial troubles. Then, came a day when a mysterious box showed up. A stranger visited the house when Arthur was at work. He gave Norma the key to the box and told her that she could press the box to receive $50,000. However, if she does this, someone she didn't know will die.

Norma didn't listen to her husband when her husband threw the box in the trash. She was focused on <u>obtaining the</u><u> $50,000</u>, without thinking about who will die if she presses the button. Although her husband already told her that an innocent person might die once she does it, she still didn't care.

So, when Norma pressed the button, <em><u>her husband died in a train incident</u></em>. Norma wondered why her husband died and asked the stranger about it. The stranger only answered, <em>"Do you really think you knew your husband?</em>"

What does safety mean? Put it in your own word
Brums [2.3K]

Answer: Safety means to be protected or protect someone or something in ANY type of risk, no matter what circumstance. Take for example, a falling tree. In this scenario, the victim should be protected by some sort of implanted gear provided by the property to protect the individual from injury. Another scenario I could provide would be basic, like a sharp kitchen knife. The knife should be placed out of reach for the purpose of keeping a minor safe in the household. Most adults would also provide themselves with extra safety such as gloves, this way the blade isn’t able to cut through the skin of one.

Explanation: Hope this helps! :)
