Answer:

The speed of faster cyclist is 85.6 m/h

The speed of slower cyclist is 78.6  m/h

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The total distance between two cyclist = d = 123 miles

The Time taken by cyclist to move apart = t = 3 hours

Let The speed of faster cyclist = s  miles per hour

And The speed of slower cyclist = (s - 7)  miles per hour

<u>Now, According to question</u>

Time = \dfrac{\textrm distance}{\textrm speed}

So, 3 = \dfrac{123}{s} + \dfrac{123}{s - 7}

Or, \dfrac{3}{123} = \dfrac{1}{s} + \dfrac{1}{s-7}

Or, \dfrac{1}{41} = \dfrac{s + (s - 7)}{s(s -7)}

Or, s(s - 7) = 41 (2 s - 7)

Or, s² - 7 s = 82 s - 287

Or, s² - 7 s - 82 s + 287 = 0

Or, s² -  89 s + 287 = 0

<u>Now, Solving this quadratic equation</u>

s = \dfrac{- b\pm \sqrt{b^{2} - 4\times a\times c}}{2\times a}

Or, s = \dfrac{- (-89)\pm \sqrt{(-89)^{2} - 4\times 1\times 287}}{2\times 1}

Or, s = \frac{89+82.2}{2} ,  \frac{89-82.2}{2}

∴ speed = 85.6 m/h  , 3.4  m/h

Here we consider 85.6  m/h

So, The speed of faster cyclist = s =  85.6 m/h

And The speed of slower cyclist = s - 7 = 85.6 - 7 = 78.6  m/h

Hence,The speed of faster cyclist is 85.6 m/h

And The speed of slower cyclist is 78.6  m/h   Answer

Let f(x) = ............
34kurt

Answer:

So first lets find g(-1)

so we plug in the answers:

-2 * -1 ^2 -4

-2*1-4 = -2-4 =

-6

Now lets solve for f(-2)

-2^2-3

4-3=1

-6+1 = 5

3*5 = 15

Im getting answer of 15 but it shows -15 or something, so I dont know if I got it wrong or if its like a dash then the answer.

Blizzard [7]

Answer:

equation: 10 + 0.05x=22

Step-by-step explanation:

the next step after writing the equation would be to subtract 10 from both sides to get 0.05x=12. after this you would then have to divide 12 by 0.05 to get 240 minutes. you could check it by putting 240 in for x to get 10+0.05(240)=22. you would then multiply 0.05 by 240 to get 12 and then add 10 onto it to get 22 which was already given.

Can y’all help me please
likoan [24]

Answer:

y = -4x + 60

Step-by-step explanation:

(0, 60) and (4,44)

Slope:

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m=(44 - 60)/(4-0)

m= (-16)/4

m= -4

Slope-intercept:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 60 = -4(x - 0)

y - 60 = -4x

y = -4x + 60
