Hey there! :)

Perpendicular to y = 1/4x - 9 ; passes through (1, 1)

Using y=mx+b, we can find the slope! 1/4 is in the "m" spot from slope-intercept form, so we know that 1/4 is our slope.

However, all equations perpendicular to a line must have a negative reciprocal of the slope. Keep in mind that a negative reciprocal is simply a number that is flipped and is either given a negative or gets a negative removed.

1/4 now turns into -4, thus giving us a new slope of -4.

Now, using this equation y-y₁=m(x-x₁)   , let's plug & chug! Note : use (1, 1) as your x/y & -4 as your slope.

y - (1) = -4(x - 1)

Simplify.

y - 1 = -4x + 4

~Hope I helped! :)

First you have to change the x value to 4x because for it to be perpendicular it has to be opposite slope so the equation is y=4x-9

In guinea pigs, the color of the fur is determined by a single gene with two alleles control. The brown allele (B) is dominant o
Kipish [7]

Answer:

See

Explanation:

Given:

Brown allele (B) is dominant over the white allele (b).

It will be assumed that the alleles are not related to the X and Y chromosomes.

See attached diagram for details of the general case (for both homo-zygous and hetero-zygous parents)

For both parents hetero-zygous,

P1:

Genotype: Bb (100%)

Phenotype: brown (100%)

F1:

Genotypes : BB, Bb, bB and bb in equal proportions, i.e.

BB (25%), Bb (50%), bb (25%)

Phenotypes: 75% brown (from BB and Bb), 25% white (from bb)

Match the reproductive structures based on their function and the system to which they belong.
Rashid [163]

Complete question: Find the complete question in the attached file below.

Answer: From the question, the system to which the structures belong are:

Female reproductive structures include: Egg, ovary, fallopian tube, vagina.

Male reproductive structures include: Urethra, sperm, testis, Vas deferens

Explanation:

The female reproductive system is made up of structures, listed above, which functions together with the purpose of reproducing offsprings. Below is the structure matched with the correct function from the question given:

--> Egg: This functions as the sex cell or gamete

--> ovary: The site where gamete are produced

--> Fallopian tube: This functions to transport the gamete from the site of production in the reproductive system

--> Vagina: connects the internal reproductive fluids to the exterior.

The male reproductive system are also made up of structures that functions together to bring about the fertilization of the female sex cell. Below is the structure matched with the correct function from the question given:

--> Urethra: connects the internal reproductive fluids to the exterior.

--> Sperm:This functions as the sex cell or gamete

--> Testis: The site where gamete are produced

--> Vas deferens: This functions to transport the gamete from the site of production in the reproductive system.

Imagine that four genes on a single chromosome in a mutant phenotype of Drosophila cross over at half the normal rate as in the
lesantik [10]

We know that frequency of recombination is proportional with the distance between the genes on the chromosome. Therefore when the recombination rate is higher that means the distance between the genes on the chromosome is bigger. If the recombination rate is lower that means the genes are closer to each other on the chromosome. In this case the cross over rate is half the normal rate in the wild-type. That means that on the genetic map the distance between the two genes on the wild type will be twice bigger than the genes of the mutated Drosophila.
