The CDC reported in 2012 that 1 in 88 American children had been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Answer:

Poisson Distribution , P(x<2) = 0.1446

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a binomial distribution question with

sample space, n = 300

probability of diagnosed with ASD, p = 1/88 = 0.0114

probability of not diagnosed with ASD, q = 1 - p = 0.9886

Mean, m is given as np = 300 * 0.0114 = 3.42

variance, v = npq = 300 * 0.0114 * 0.9886 = 3.38101

standard deviation, s = square root of variance = 3.38101^(0.5) = 1.83875

This binomial distribution can be approximated as Poisson Distribution since

n > 20 and p < 0.05

For a Poisson Distribution

P(X = x) = [e^(-m) * m^(x)]/ x!

b) x = 2

P(X < 2) = P(X = 0) + P(X = 1)

using the z score table and evaluating, we obtain

P(x<2) = 0.1446

ankoles [38]
Use the definition of tangent

or inv tangent (arctan or atan)

tan(theta) = opposite side/ adjacent side

the vertical rise would be the opposite side, the horozontal distance would be the adjacent side

let rise = y
let distance= x
x=2y

so tan(theta) = y/2y
tan(theta) = 1/2

theta = atan(1/2)

by selling a mobile set of rupees 4800 Ramesh gains 25% how much will have we gained by selling it at rupees 4080
Crank

Answer:

240

Step-by-step explanation:

Gain=25%

Gain=selling price - cost price

Gain = ((selling price - cost price )× 100)/ cost price

25c=(4800-c)100

25c=480000-100c

125c=480000

cost price = 3840

second statement

The selling price was 4080

Cost price 3840

therefore

Gain=selling price - cost price

Gain = 4080-3840

=240

The function y = x2 is transformed to y = (x + 4)2. Which statement is true about the transformed function? It is an even functi
xxMikexx [17]
Even function: f(-x) = f(x). If you replace x by -x you should find the same function.
Odd function: f(-x) = -f(x). If you replace x by -x you  find the same function with opposite sign;
Is f(-x) = f(x)?
f(x) = (x+4)² =  x² + 8x +16
f(-x) = (-x+4)² = x² - 8x + 16, then it's not an even function

Is f(-x) = -f(x)?
f(-x) = (-x+4)² = x² + 8x + 16 , then it's not an odd function
It is neither an even nor an odd function

A cat keeps eating to gain weight while a dog keeps doing exercise.Later, the cat's weight increases by 20% and the dog's weight
lesya [120]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We will call the dog's original weight d and the cat's c.  according to the problem 1.2c=.9d

1.2c is the cat's weight increased by 20% and .9d is the dog's weight decreased by 10%  Now we just solve this with algebra for the dog's original weight.

1.2c=.9d

(1.2/.9)c = d

(4/3)c = d

Now, this tells us that the dog's original weight was 4/3 of the cat's.or  about 33.33% larger

It kinda looks like the question is then asking what the cat's current weight is  in comparison to the dog's original.  If that's the case we need just one more step.  We want the dog's original weight and the cat's current weight in terms of the same variable.  Well, we have that.

Current cat = 1.2c or 6/5, since we have the other in fractional form.

original dog = (4/3)c

Now, what do we multiply the first to get to the second?  Well, we need common denominators.  15 is the lcm of 3 and 5, so we'll use that.

6/5 = 18/15 and 4/3 = 20/15

Nowwe want to know what we have to multiply 18 by to get to 20.  some algebra will find that.

18x=20

x = 20/18

x = 10/9

that's about 1.11, so the dog's original weight is about 11% higher than the cat's current weight.

Hopefully that's the answer it wanted, if not or if there is something you didn't understand let me know.
