Read the excerpt from The Diary of Anne Frank. Mr. Frank. Now. About the noise. While the men are in the building below, we must

have complete quiet. Every sound can be heard down there, not only in the workrooms, but in the offices, too. The men come at about eight-thirty, and leave at about five-thirty. So, to be perfectly safe, from eight in the morning until six in the evening we must move only when it is necessary, and then in stockinged feet. We must not speak above a whisper. We must not run any water. We cannot use the sink, or even, forgive me, the w.c. The pipes go down through the workrooms. It would be heard. No trash . . . (Mr. Frank stops abruptly as he hears the sound of marching feet from the street below. Everyone is motionless, paralyzed with fear. Mr. Frank goes quietly into the room on the right to look down out of the window. Anne runs after him, peering out with him. The tramping feet pass without stopping. The tension is relieved. Mr. Frank, followed by Anne, returns to the main room and resumes his instructions to the group) . . . No trash must ever be thrown out which might reveal that someone is living up here . . . not even a potato paring. We must burn everything in the stove at night. This is the way we must live until it is over, if we are to survive. What does this dialogue reveal about how Mr. Frank views his role in the attic?
A. He considers himself to be the only person who is allowed to make rules.
B. He sees himself as a leader who is responsible for keeping the others safe.
C. He understands that people look to him for leadership, but it makes him uncomfortable.
D. He believes that he must give each person an equal say in creating the rules.

The correct answer is B. He sees himself as a leader who is responsible for keeping the others safe.

Explanation:

"The Diary of Anne Frank" is a book that narrates the way Anne Frank life changes as the Nazi occupation take place in the Netherlands and her family is forced to hide to avoid being taken to a concentration map. In the excerpt presented the family has already moved to an attic to hide from the Nazis, because of this Mr. Frank who was the father and leader of the family explains to all the family the things they should not do to avoid being discovered such as speak aloud, run water, use the sink or the w.c. or leaving trash as he knows this will have terrible consequences for his family. This implies Mr. Frank considers himself as the leader of the family and because of this he feels responsible for the well being and safety of every member and wants to guarantee everyone is fine by helping them to know which behaviors they should avoid. Thus, from this dialogue, it can be concluded Mr. Frank sees himself as a leader who is responsible for keeping the others safe.

Answer: I'm balanced I agree and disagree here is  why,

Peter C. Perdue's China Marches West argues that the Qing dynasty's ability to break through historical territorial barriers on China's northwestern frontier reflected greater Manchu familiarity with steppe culture than their Chinese predecessors had exhibited, reinforced by superior commercial, technical, and symbolic resources and the benefits of a Russian alliance. Qing imperial expansion illustrated patterns of territorial consolidation apparent as well in Russia's forward movement in Inner Asia and, ironically, in the heroic, if ultimately futile, projects of the western Mongols who fell victim to the Qing. After summarizing Perdue's thesis, this essay extends his comparisons geographically and chronologically to argue that between 1600 and 1800 states ranging from western Europe through Japan to Southeast Asia exhibited similar patterns of political and cultural integration and that synchronized integrative cycles across Eurasia extended from the ninth to the nineteenth centuries. Yet in its growing vulnerability to Inner Asian domination, China proper—along with other sectors of the "exposed zone" of Eurasia—exemplified a species of state formation that was reasonably distinct from trajectories in sectors of Eurasia that were protected against Inner Asian conquest.
