Answer:

The correct answer is option b, that is, genetic drift.

Explanation:

Adaptive radiation refers to a procedure that exists in enhancing the diversity of life in the course of evolution. Various groups of species develop adaptive compositions to get adapt to the new surroundings and perform new ecological functions.

These give rise to many new species that get amended with various new ecological habitats. The adaptive radiation occupies the vacant ecological niches. It results in the development of new and diversified characteristics within the species that take place in the niches with appropriate habitat. Evolutionary innovation is also a direct outcome of the adaptive radiation.

Genetic drift is not a direct outcome of adaptive radiation, it refers to a process, which takes place in small populations, and because of certain chance incidences, the allele frequencies of populations modify with time.

In this condition, either some of the individuals become distinguished from the main population and turn into new species or a huge population suddenly gets diminished to a small population, and therefore, modification in allelic frequency takes place.

name two major vessels that return oxygen-poor blood to the heart. What are the damages for each? Where do they terminate?
Serga [27]

Answer:

1. Head, neck, upper limb, thorax - super vena cava - top of the right atrium.

2. Lower limb - inferior vena cava - bottom of the right atrium.

Explanation:

The Heart pumps the oxygen-rich blood to the different parts of the body to Otake oxygen and nutrients to these organs and then takes the oxygen-poor blood returns from the body to the heart.

The two major vessels that return oxygen-poor blood to the heart are 1. superior vena cava (SVC) that drainages Head, neck, upper limb, thorax and terminate at top of the right atrium, and 2. inferior vena cava (IVC), Lower limb and terminate at bottom of the right atrium.

1. Head, neck, upper limb, thorax - super vena cava - top of the right atrium.

2. Lower limb - inferior vena cava - bottom of the right atrium.

_____ radiation lies at frequencies just below the frequencies of visible light.
olga2289 [7]
Infrared radiation lies at the frequency just below the frequencies of visible light.

Infrared radiation is termed as an electromagnetic radiation which has longer wavelength more than those which have visible light.
Infrared radiation excites vibrational modes in a molecule through which a change in the dipole moment. Infrared examines transmission and absorption of photons which are in the infrared range. Infrared radiation is used in scientific, military, law enforcement, in industrial, and medical applications.

Adding an extra nucleotide to a dna sequence produces what type of mutation answers
timama [110]
The addition of an extra nucleotide to a DNA sequence produces a mutation that is called insertion. An insertion mutation can be in various sizes, from one nucleotide base pair to a section of one chromosome inserted into another. When one or more nucleotides are inserted into the genome, the processes of translation and transcription could be disrupted, resulting in altered protein synthesis.
