people use freedom of speech over debates like abortions because some say it’s a woman’s body meaning her choice and others say you are killing a child. Either way it’s there freedom of speech to say their opinion even though some get mad. Another example is freedom of speech over saying how students feel over dress codes for schools it causes issues because the school believes dressing appropriately and students believe it’s very strict and too harsh

The significance of the Declaration of Independence
Luba_88 [7]

The Declaration of Independence is an act declaring the independence of 13 US colonies under British rule. It is the first formal act of a representative body proclaiming the principle of national sovereignty.

Explanation:

  • The declaration was made on July 4, 1776 by the Second Continental Congress held in Philadelphia; that day in the US later began to be celebrated as National Independence Day.
  • The content of the Declaration was most influenced by Th. Jefferson. The Declaration is based on the settings of the School of Natural Law and the philosophy of J. Locke, while similar in structure to the European feudal charters of liberty, in particular the English Bill of Rights of 1688.
  • The declaration, in the introductory part, proclaims the inalienable natural rights of man to equality, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the right of the people to independence and the free choice of government, and the right of the people to rebellion and the removal of tyrannical power.
  • He then enumerates thirty violations of the rights of the colonies committed by the British king, justifying their rebellion; ends with the proclamation that the united colonies are free and independent states.
