"The division of a bacterial cell into two daughter cells is accomplished by a protein called FtsZ. FtsZ is very similar to the

tubulin subunits that form microtubules in eukaryotes. After the replicated bacterial chromosomes have moved to opposite ends of the cell, a ring of FtsZ proteins forms inside the plasma membrane in the region where the cell will divide. As the FtsZ ring constricts, the plasma membrane and bacterial cell wall fold in and eventually separate into two cells.
Plant and animal cells also require cytoskeletal proteins for cytokinesis, although the roles these proteins play differ among bacteria, plants, and animals.
For each space in the table, drag the appropriate label to indicate if the statement is true or false for each group of organisms.
Statement Bacteria Animals Plants

True Cells divide by constriction of a ring of protein __________ _________ ________

False The presence of a cell wall prevents the cell from ... __________ __________ _________

dividing by constriction

Tubulin subunits or tubulin-like molecules function... __________ __________ __________

in the division of the cell"

1. The cells divide by constriction of a protein, it is true in case of Bacteria and Animals, and false in case of Plants.

2. The presence of a cell wall inhibits the cell from differentiating by constriction, it is false in case of bacteria; though bacteria exhibit a cell wall but still divide by constriction. It is also false in case of animals, but true in case of plants.

3. Tubulin-like molecules or tubulin subunits function in the division of the cell. The statement in true in case of bacteria and plants, but is false in case of animals.

plz help!!! If this is a sequence of one DNA strand, what is the complementary sequence of the other DNA strand? DNA: A T T C A
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

Answer:

T A A G T C G C T

Explanation:

DNA strand:                             A T T C A G C G A

complementary DNA strand:  T A A G T C G C T

This is a very important rule:

Four kinds of nitrogenous bases in DNA: Adnine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), Cytosine (C)

And this is how they're coupled:

A = T

C = G

For example::

First DNA strand:                  A T G C

complementary strand:        T A C G

When Mendel crossed a plant homozygous for round seeds to another plant homozygous for wrinkled seeds, he found that all the pro
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

E

Explanation:

Gregor Mendel discovered the principles that governs heredity. In one of his experiments, he discovered that an organism receives two forms of a gene called ALLELE from each parent. He realized that one allele is capable of masking the expression of its variant pair in a gene. He called the allele that masks or is expressed, DOMINANT allele while the allele that is masked, RECESSIVE allele. He termed this principle the LAW OF DOMINANCE.

The above explained law of dominance is what applies in the question here. When the homozygous round allele and wrinkled allele were crossed, the allele for round seeds are dominant over the allele for wrinkled seeds (recessive) i.e. in a heterozygous state (combination of the different alleles), the round allele will mask the phenotypic expression of the wrinkled allele, expressing itself over it.

Which of the following is an example of an allele? *<br><br> 1.H<br> 2. HH<br> 3. Hr<br> 4. RRR
VMariaS [17]

Examples of allele types are HH. That is option 2.

<h3>Gene Allele </h3>

An allele in genetic studies is an alternative gene form that is located at a particular point of the chromosome. It is usually represented with capital and small letter of the same alphabet.

There are two types of a allele which include:

  • Dominant allele: This is when the variation seen in a gene produces a noticeable phenotype. This is seen in the gene combination of HH.

  • Recessive allele: This type of allele does not produce any visible noticeable phenotype. This is seen in hh.

Therefore, examples of allele types are HH

A federally funded research study involving children 8 to 12 years old involves collecting a single voided urine sample to asses
777dan777 [17]

Answer: A federally funded research study involving children 8 to 12 years old involves collecting a single voided urine sample to assess the frequency of asymptomatic <em>proteinuria</em>.

Your IRB has determined that assent of children age 8 and older is required for the study. A 10 year old firmly declined to participate in the study.

The best procedure that describes the <u>action </u>to be taken by the investigator is:

  • Honor the Childs decision .

Explanation:

The <em>purpose</em> of the IRB is to <em>assure that appropriate steps are taken</em> to <em>protect the rights </em>and welfare of humans participating as subjects in a research study. It promotes <em>fully informed and voluntary participation</em> by prospective subjects capable of making such choices (or, if that is not possible, informed permission given by a suitable proxy), and seeks to maximize the safety of subjects.

The capacity admits degrees. The same patient may be able to decide certain things and not others. So, the more transcendent or delicate a decision is, the higher the level of capacity required must be. When the patient <u>is not capable, it is up to his relatives to make the decisions.</u>

Although carbon dioxide emissions are reduced geothermal power plants release odor pollution that smells like rotten eggs.
Temka [501]
The compound that smells like rotten egg is another pollutant, hydrogen sulfide with the chemical formula of H2S. This is specifically formed in the geothermal power plants because of the presence of the sulfur that when reacted with water or hydrogen may form the hydrogen sulfide.
