There are a few problems:

The infrastructure is already constructed for the main sources in different regions (some use water, others use wind, and so on). Changing the system will need a lot of initial money to create the new infrastructure needed.

One problem is that some regions have less sunlight than others, so those regions will need more solar panels to have the same energy as other areas and the area covered with the panels can not be used for other things, are areas where you can not grow any plant, a thing that may affect the local ecosystem.
