Answer:

Minoan civilization declined by the late 15th century B.C., but the exact cause is unknown. One theory is that the volcanic eruption on Thera damaged other cities along Minoan trade routes, which hurt Crete economically.

In at least two paragraphs, discuss whether you believe the farmers of the u.s constitution created a democracy.
natulia [17]
A democracy can be defined as a society where people influence the laws and structure of a society. In this sense the framers definitely created a democracy. Even though Congress makes the national laws, it is the people of the country who vote for the members of Congress.

Along with this the framers also did a good job of creating a democracy where individuals can express their ideas. The framers of the Constitution enabled the first amendment, which protects free speech. Even though the framers created this constitution with a democracy in mind, the US is not a perfect democracy. A true democracy would involve each individual citizen voting on laws. Each individual voting for laws directly is called a direct democracy.

Why did the French re-possession of the Louisiana Territory cause uneasiness in the United States?
Alisiya [41]

1. The reason that the French re-possession of the Louisiana Territory unnerved the United States was that the United States feared that, if France under Napoleon Bonaparte dominated the Mississippi River with access to the Mexican Gulf, the United States would be weakened strategically and would be unable to expand its territory westward.

2. Thomas Jefferson sent James Monroe to France to negotiate for the purchase of New Orleans, including West Florida.

James Monroe was appointed as a special envoy to France. He joined the American Ambassador in France, Robert Livingston.

3. The French fear of Great Britain helped the United States in the successful purchase of the Louisiana Territory because the coming war with Great Britain would engender a British naval blockade of France.

4. France officially transferred the Louisiana Territory over to the United States on Tuesday, December 20, 1803, while the United States took possession 10 days later.

5. The first state to be admitted to the United States was the state of Louisiana. It was admitted on April 30, 1812, as the 18th State of the United States.

6. The states that eventually emerged from the Louisiana land deal were 15 in number during the presidency of Thomas Jefferson.

Some of the 15 were partly joined by other states.

What was the Louisiana Land Purchase?

The Louisiana Land Purchase was one of the most important achievements of Thomas Jefferson's presidency because it doubled the territory of the United States, enabling it to expand westward as part of the acclaimed Manifest Destiny.

Thus, the land deal known as the Louisiana Land Purchase marked an important moment in the history of the United States.

Answer:

Niccolò Machiavelli was an Italian Renaissance political philosopher and statesman and secretary of the Florentine republic. His most famous work, The Prince (1532), brought him a reputation as an atheist and an immoral cynic.

Machiavelli believed as a ruler, it was better to be widely feared than to be greatly loved; A loved ruler retains authority by obligation while a feared leader rules by fear of punishment. In it, Machiavelli outlined his vision of an ideal leader: an amoral, calculating tyrant for whom the end justifies the means. The Prince not only failed to win the Medici family's favor, it also alienated him from the Florentine people.

Clearly a Renaissance man, Machiavelli showed his greatest skill and made his most lasting mark on history as a writer. He wrote histories, short stories, and even plays. The Prince, however, was Machiavelli's most influential work. It was an examination of how a leader could gain power and stay in power.

The general theme of The Prince is of accepting that the aims of princes – such as glory and survival – can justify the use of immoral means to achieve those ends. From Machiavelli's correspondence, a version appears to have been distributed in 1513, using a Latin title, De Principatibus (Of Principalities).

The author's name has been lent to a style of leadership and management associated with cynicism, deceit and guile. To be described as Machiavellian is to be insulted — it means being duplicitous, egocentric and manipulative. The Machiavellian is exploitative, competitive, and selfish.

How did the settlement of the West increase tension between the North and South?
mamaluj [8]
The main way in which settlement of the west increase tension between the north and south was that each new state in the Union had to decide whether to be "slave" or "free"--leading to much more tension over the issue of slavery. This tension eventually led to the Civil War.
