The British Crown hired German troops to fight against the American colonists. During the American Revolution, these german troops acted as auxiliary of the troops of the British Army. Known as "Hessians", these troops were contracted during the 1800´s extensively. During the American Revolution the German soldiers meant a quart of the troops sent to America by the British.
