The area of a rectangle is calculated by multiplying its length and width. That is,
                               A = L x W
Given that area is 2,197, the width is 2197/L. The perimeter on the other hand is the twice the sum of the dimensions. That is,
                         P = 2L + 2(2197/L)
Differentiating the equation and equating the differential to zero.
                       dP = 2 + 4394(-1/L²) = 0
Solving for L will give us an answer of 46.87 m. Thus, the length and the width of the rectangle are approximately 46.87 m both.

During the half time of a basketball game, a sling shot launches T-shirts at the crowd. The T-shirt is launched with an initial
kumpel [21]

Step-by-step explanation:

The T-shirt is launched with an initial upward velocity of 60 ft/s from a height of 5 feet. Its equation of motion is given by :

f(x) = -12x^2 + 60x + 5 ....(1)

(a) For maximum height, put \dfrac{df(x)}{dt}=0

So,

\dfrac{ d(-12x^2 + 60x + 5)}{dt}=-24x+60

Now put,

-24x+60=0\\\\x=2.5\ s

So, the time taken for the T-shirt to reach maximum height is 2.5 seconds.

(b) Put x = 2.5 s in equation (1)

f(x=2.5) = -12(2.5)^2 + 60(2.5) + 5\\\\f(x)=80\ \text{feet}

Find the missing side of the triangle. Round your answers to the nearest tenth if necessary.
Oliga [24]

Answer:

6.5cm)

Step-by-step explanation:

13.1 cm x 13.1 cm = 171.61

11.4 cm 11.4 cm = 129.96

171.61 - 129.96 = 41.65

Find the square root of 41.65.

41.65 = 6.4536811201050 x 6.4536811201050

Round 6.4536811201050.

x = 6.5cm
