The endomembrane system is composed of the different membranes which are suspended in the cytoplasm within a eukaryotic cell. They include :

1) Nuclear membrane

2) Endoplasmic reticulum

3)Golgi apparatus

4) Lysosomes

5) Vesicles

6) Endosomes

These membranes divide the cell into functional and structural components.

Peroxisomes are also covered with membranes but they are not considered as the part of endomembrane system as they don't recieve vesicles from Golgi apparatus.

Similarly the membranes of mitochondira and the chloroplasts also are not included in the endomembrane system because their functions are not coordinated with the organelles involved in the endomembrane system.
