Which of the following emotions best fits the description of a "visceral" feeling?
andrezito [222]

Answer: Indecision

Explanation: A visceral feeling is something you feel in your gut that differs with what your first initial thought is. The best way I know to explain this is with food.

You see the salad and your  brain says to eat that, but your visceral gut says to eat the cake.

These battling emotions cause you to not be able to make a decision

Why does the poet most likely use the words “damp and brown” to describe the sands?
Dominik [7]

Damp is a negative word used to describe humidity; pretty much like moist, but while moist has a positive connotation (moist is desirable), damp has a negative one (nobody wants to live in a damp house). Brown, on the other hand, is a color associated with sadness, isolation and loneliness. The words “Damp and Brown” in the poem are used by the author to create a visual imagery of a not so pleasant sad beach. The author is using visual imagery to to make the poem more haunting or unsettling.

We can conclude that the correct answer is: to make the poem more haunting or unsettling.

What is the definition of the word organic as it is used in this sentence?
liubo4ka [24]

Organic matter could mean a lot of things. When we stick to the scientific definition, there are compounds that contain the elements hydrocarbons. Most of these compounds are found in living things. However, when used in this example, organic matter is used to feed living things. Thus, this means that organic matter means food.
