Niagara at most should be my furthest Post in that quarter . . . By this Means we may keep up a Trade with the most distant Nations, retain their good Opinion, and totally prevent any Jealousy of our intending them any ill. . . . As we increase in Numbers on this Continent, it’s easy and Safe to advance our settlements in Townships, though this I would do only by Cession or by Purchase of the Lands to prevent the Shadow of an Excuse for the Indians to quarrel with us.”

-Source: Colonel William Eyre, as printed in The First Global War: Britain, France, and the Fate of North America, 1756-1775,1764

Explain in at least eight sentences how this quote relates to the Seven Years War and its impact on the American Revolution.

Answer:

William Eyre was part of the British Army throughout the French and Indian Wars, also known as the Seven Years War (1754-1763).

This was a conflict between Great Britain and France due to their desire to expand into frontier regions in North America.

Eyre´s quote is a warning on how to prevent that conflict from becoming damaging to the British dominion.

Explanation:

By the end of the War, by the Treaty of Paris (1763) the French ceded most of its North American lands to the British.

However, this victory caused problems in Great Britain’s American colonies.

The territorial expansion led to conflicts over frontier policies and the imposition of taxes to pay the war’s costs.

Furthermore, the British limitations to the colonist´s western expansion and the inducement of an Indian war provoked anger in the British who lived in the American colonies.

Eventually, that colonial anger led to rebellion and the American Revolution.

My U. S history teacher assigned me to do a WW1 propaganda poster. I drew a lion representing/symbolizing the enemy and the lion
bagirrra123 [75]
That phrase works perfectly! Although if you’d prefer a phrase that rhymes, Join the war and fight off shore might work (idk)

Otherwise, this works perfectly with your poster and would help express the symbolism you’ve provided!

Good luck and your poster looks rest so far!

According to DuBois the United States entering the war would trigger certain events throughout the world and at home. What are so
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

W. E. B. Du Bois was an important American thinker: a poet, philosopher, economic historian, sociologist, and social critic. His work resists easy classification. This article focuses exclusively on Du Bois’ contribution to philosophy; but the reader must keep in mind throughout that Du Bois is more than a philosopher; he is, for many, a great social leader. His extensive efforts all bend toward a common goal, the equality of colored people. His philosophy is significant today because it addresses what many would argue is the real world problem of white domination. So long as racist white privilege exists, and suppresses the dreams and the freedoms of human beings, so long will Du Bois be relevant as a thinker, for he, more than almost any other, employed thought in the service of exposing this privilege, and worked to eliminate it in the service of a greater humanity. Du Bois’ pragmatist philosophy, as well as his other work, underlies and supports this larger social aim. Later in life, Du Bois turned to communism as the means to achieve equality. He envisioned communism as a society that promoted the well being of all its members, not simply a few. Du Bois came to believe that the economic condition of Africans and African-Americans was one of the primary modes of their oppression, and that a more equitable distribution of wealth, as advanced by Marx, was the remedy for the situation.
