When a kid is doing well in school but does not talk much and has trouble with making friends might be due to him being unsocial by nature. Or it might be because of him considering others inferior to him because of getting higher grades. Another reason might be his extra hard work to get good grades resulting in his bad behaviour towards others. As too much hard work cause you to become arrogant.
