People work for many different reasons. Three reasons people work are: to support themselves, to support their family, and to move forward in their career/life.  People need to work to be able to provide for themselves and their family for food, shelter and wants. They also need to be able to move forward in a career and keep continuing to make a living that benefits themselves and anyone that immediately benefits from their success.
