Its impact on the environment has been massively overwhelming because of what the material economy does in bringing raw materials into a finished good that can be used in the environment. The raw materials that are extracted will go through different process of conversion into finished product for consumption which is made possible by the material economy.

Material economy impacts has been a vital and important area in which economic sustenance and functioning of the environment is achieved.

A simple chain of material economy starts and end from extradition - production -distribution-consumption-disposal of waste.
