Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to assume that the slope between the dependent Varian and the numerical independent variable is zero.

In regression analysis, to find the effect of one independent variable on the dependent variable, there has to be no interference from the other independent variables whether they be categorical (dummy) or numerical independent variables.

A dummy variable is one which takes on the value of 0 or 1, to represent the absence or presence (respectively) of a given category which is expected to influence the dependent variable.

When a dummy independent variable is included in a regression model, to know the effect of that dummy or category (e.g. day =1, night =0) on the dependent variable, the influence of the numerical independent variable has to be removed temporarily.

In a regression equation,

Y=a+bX+cK

Y is the dependent variable

a is the intercept on the vertical axis on the graph

b is the slope between the dependent variable Y and the independent numerical variable X

c is the slope between the dependent variable Y and the dummy variable K

3y + 8 = ½ y + 28 Find y
Bess [88]

\text{Hi there! :]}

\large\boxed{y = 8}

3y + 8 = 1/2y + 28\\\\\text{Subtract 8 from both sides:}\\\\3y + 8 - 8 = 1/2y + 28 - 8\\\\3y = 1/2y + 20\\\\\text{Subtract 1/2y from both sides:}\\\\3y - 1/2y = 1/2y - 1/2y+ 20\\ \\\text{Convert 3y to 6/2y to make subtracting easier:}\\5/2y = 20\\\\\text{Divide both sides by 5/2 (Multiply by reciprocal, or 2/5):}\\\\\\5/2y * 2/5 = 20 * 2/ 5\\\\y = 8

johnnys baseball team raised $1456 for next month's tournament. They need a total of $2,000 to play. the team has a total of 11
lapo4ka [179]
Given that Johney's baseball had raised $1,456 out of $2,000 they need to play the tournament.

Amount of money they still need to raise is given by $2,000 - $1,456 = $544.

Given that there is a total of 11 players in the team. Let x represent the total amount each player needs to raise, then x = $544 / 11 = $49.45

Therefore, each player needs to raise $49.45

What is the sum of 9c+(8+3c)?
mixas84 [53]
<span>9c+(8+3c)
9c+8+3c     (collect like terms)

9c+3c+8
12c+8

12c+8 is the answer.
im not sure if your teacher also wants the answer to be in simplest form so im going to do that below as well:

12c+8      (4*3=12 and 4*2=8. you can take out a 4 from those 2 numbers)

4(3c+2) (this is the simplest form of </span>9c+(8+3c)<span>)
