Answer:

Most of the fighting during the American Civil War took place on Southern soil. In part, this was the result of the war strategies of both sides. To win the war, the South had only to survive. On the other hand, for the North to win, the Union had to be restored.

Eliezer and his father are told to lie about their ages. why?
alex41 [277]

Remember that Eliezer and his father were sent off to Auschwitz, which as commonly known today is a death camp. To determine whether they go to Auschwitz or Birkenau (the labor camp next to Auschwitz), they were asked for some of the following things:

1) Age

2) Occupancy

3) Health condition

4) (i believe there might be more) etc.

Each of these determine if they can work, and depending on what they answer, they were either sent directly to the death camp, or were sent to the labor camp.

Now, to answer the question, they were told to lie about their ages so that they would have a higher survivability rate.

hope this helps

Why was there instability in French government 1791-99?
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

Explanation:

It is the most radical and violent period of French Revolution. It followed the death of king Louis XVI who was guillotined in Paris. The radical party of the Jacobines took control of the National Assembly. Terror and repression were extensively used to crush real and suspected enemies. War was fought against Austria and Prussia where the revolutionary government thought emigrés were plotting against the republic. Many executions were carried out under orders of Maximilien Robespierre, head of the ruthless and feared Committee of Public Security. Many leaders of the revolution were guillotined, even Robespierre himself. Those were times of chaos and uncertainty in France. The 1799 coup d´état of Napoleon put an end to chaos.
