Answer: Lincoln worked 2 hours lifeguarding and 8 hours tutoring.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of hours that Lincoln worked lifeguarding last week.

Let y represent the number of hours that Lincoln worked tutoring last week.

Lincoln is working two summer jobs, making $13 per hour lifeguarding and $23 per hour tutoring. Last week Lincoln earned a total of $210. This means that

13x + 23y = 210 - - - - - -- - - - -- - -1

He worked 4 times as many hours tutoring as he worked hours lifeguarding. This means that

y = 4x

Substituting x = 4y into equation 1, it becomes

13x + 23(4x) = 210

13x + 92x = 210

105x = 210

x = 210/105 = 2

y = 4y = 4 × 2

y = 8

OleMash [197]
All you do is combine the elements that sets D and E have in common. in this case, the only two values in the set will be 8 & 11, because those are the only two numbers that can be found in both set D and set E!!

Answer:

The answer is B

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to substitute values for this.

f(1) = 1/2(2)^1

f(1) = 1

Now we can eliminate D and A

f(3) = 1/2(2)^3

f(3) = 4

f(6) = 1/2(2)^6

f(6) = 32

Answer is B

Find the area of the blue area if each<br> square represents 1.5 square meters.
Anni [7]

Check the picture below.

so the picture has a rectangle that is 8 units high and 12 units wide, and it has a couple of "empty" trapezoids, with a height of 5 and "bases" of 9 and 3.

now, if we just take the whole area of the rectangle and then subtract the area of those two trapezoids, what's leftover is the blue area.

\textit{area of a trapezoid}\\\\ A=\cfrac{h(a+b)}{2}~~ \begin{cases} h=height\\ a,b=\stackrel{parallel~sides}{bases}\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ h=5\\ a=9\\ b=3 \end{cases}\implies \begin{array}{llll} A=\cfrac{5(9+3)}{2}\implies A=30 \end{array} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{\large Areas}}{\stackrel{rectangle}{(12\cdot 8)}~~ -~~\stackrel{\textit{two trapezoids}}{2(30)}}\implies 96-60\implies 36
