The area of a rectangle is calculated by the product of the length and the width of the rectangle. We calculate as follows:

</span>12 3/4 square inches = L x <span>2 1/8 inches 
L = 51/4 * 8/17
L = 6 inches

</span>Area = 12 3/4 square inches = L x W
12 3/4 square inches = L x <span>2 1/10 inches
