I am too lazy to research but other than Abraham Lincoln, how come no presidents before him ended slavery?
lianna [129]

Answer:

Mainly due to the social norms of the time but another reason why Abraham did free the slaves unlike any others was the fact of industrialization in the North where slavery was becoming unpopular and not needed and was seen as a set back. Abraham also decided to free slaves after the war or until he had a definite victory over the South so when Abraham did free them the South couldn't recover.

What facilitated the rapid spread of islam in the seventh and eighth centuries? the exhaustion of the byzantine empire after pyr
gogolik [260]
The correct answer should be unification of previously fractious and divided Arab tribes

Many Arab countries were angry because the Byzantine empire tried to impose Christianity on them. They responded by joining together under the banner of Islam to spread and stop Christianity. This started in the 7th century and Muslims managed to win places like Persia, Syria, Egypt, and unite in order to push the Byzantines back.

What were the eastern western and Northern borders of Egyptian settlement
Zarrin [17]
If you mean Egyptian settlement as opposed to Egyptian power, the eastern boundary was the copper mines of Sinai or the negev. The southern boundary was a fort on the Nile on the border with Nubia. The northern boundary was the Mediterranean, the western boundary was the Great Oasis or the border with the kushite or Libyan realm.

Northern - Mediterranean Sea.

Eastern - dessert

Western Red Sea and dessert.

Look at a map and see where Egypt is. In practice, much of Egypt is a tiny strip of cultivated land both sides of the Nile river, not more than 10 miles wide, but many hundreds of miles long. The remainder is dessert.
