Answer:

The membranes of the mitochondria provide a place for enzymes needed for Cellular Respiration to anchor and function.

Explanation:

Cellular Respiration helps to convert chemical energy present in food into cellular energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). It is a multistep process. Without energy our cells can't function they need energy to survive and this energy comes from cellular respiration.

ATP is known as the energy currency of the cell and produce in the mitochondria which is known as the power House of the cell. ATP is necessary for the cellular function in the body. Cellular Respiration aimed is creating ATP and this process is present in 3 phases:

1) Glycolysis (present in the cytosol of the cell).

2) Kreb cycle: Present inside the mitochondria. Pyruvic acid is synthesized by breaking down of food and in this cycle pyruvic acid changes into citric acid with the help of adding carbon and oxygen molecule. In this cycle FADH2, NADH (electron Carrier molecules) and ATP is formed.

3) Electron transport chain: Present inside the mitochondria. It is known as a cluster of proteins which helping in to transfer the electron through a membrane present in the mitochondria to form a gradient of protons that drives a formation of ATP.

Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

Potential targets:

1- DNA methyltransferases

2- Chromatin modifiers such as histone acetyltransferases, histone deacetylases, histone methyltransferases, etc.

3- Components of the RNA interference (RNAi) machinery such as Dicer, Argonaute, etc.

Explanation:

Epigenetics can be defined as the study of any heritable change in the phenotype that does not involve modifications in the DNA sequence. Epigenetic mechanisms can be classified into three major types: 1-DNA methylation, 2-histone modifications (e.g., acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, etc), and 3-regulatory non-coding RNAs (e.g., miRNAs, lncRNAs, siRNAs, etc) that modulate target gene expression via the RNA interference pathway. There are different types of proteins that are involved in these complex epigenetic mechanisms, and those cited above represent only some examples that can be used as therapeutic targets.

Which of the following results from cutting down trees
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Vegetation on soil protects the soil from erosion because its roots and root hairs help bind the soil particles together. This occurs mechanically by binding soil into crumbs and also chemically by providing organic matter that binds the soil particle into humus that holds moisture. The soil becomes heavy to be carried off by wind erosion. Trees also break the down flow of water hence reducing the capacity of runoff to carry soil sediments.
