The term is Northwest Ordinance. Northwest Ordinance was an Act of Continental Congress which initially organized the first United States territory and was to be the basis for governing how the United States would expand westward.

EXPLANATION

The Northwest Ordinance was enacted on July 13, 1787. The Northwest Ordinance was an act of the Congress of the United States’ Confederation. Northwest Ordinance resulted in Northwest Territory, that is known as the first organized territory in the United States. The territory of the western boundary was formed by upper Mississippi.

American Revolutionary War was ended in 1783 by the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Paris also included that Great Britain yielded this region to the United States. There were many problems in gaining control of the land that were faced by the Confederation Congress. The problems included violent confrontations of the indigenous people, unsanctioned movement of the American settlers to the Ohio Valley, the presence of the British Army that was kept to occupy forts in the region, and an empty United States’ treasury.

There were three principal provisions that were ordained in the document. The first one was a division within the Northwest Territory into three until five States, nothing less or more. The second one was three stages method in admitting if there is going to be a new state to the Union. The third one was a bill of rights protecting the freedom of people, especially religious freedom. There were also rights to writ habeas corpus, the benefit of trial by jury, and also other individual rights.

Which of these is a limitation of inferences to the best explanation?
lana [24]

Answer:

it depends upon our coming up with the right explanation as one of the candidates

Explanation:

Inference to the best explanation is a term generally in logic or philosophy, which describes a form of inductive reasoning where by individuals draw from the premises about an incident to an explanation for that particular incident.

This explanation is often a claim or reason given, as to why the incident is the way it is. For example: in the occurrence of a particular phenomenon named to be A. Premises B provides the best explanation for A. Therefore, it is most likely that B is true, even though there is no certainty or guarantee of its truth.

Hence, a limitation of inferences to the best explanation is that, "it depends upon our coming up with the right explanation as one of the candidates."
