5) First, find the number of cats. To do that do: 48-15-8 to get 25 cats.
5a. 15:48
5b. 15:25 --> 3:5
5c. 8:48 ---> 1:6

6) Add 1/3 and 1/6. Convert 1/3 to 6ths by multiplying by two to both the numerator and denominator. So 2/6 + 1/6 = 3/6 = 1/2 of the pan.

7) Multiply 137 by 0.06.
137 x 0.06 = $8.22 in sales tax
